The following information was supplied by Johnnie Nix. She wanted to tell about her uncle and his family and the fact, he was 92 yrs. old when he made a profession of faith.  Thanks Johnnie.

Charles Lunsford Carter, aka: Charlie, age 92, of Hamilton, Al. passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Marion Regional Medical Center in Hamilton, AL. Charlie was born on August 9, 1917, to Thomas Monroe and Belle (Mills) Carter of Detroit, AL. On March 30, 1940, he was married to the former, Evelyn Rye of Detroit, AL., to whom 4 children were born to this union..

In the early 40’s, Charlie and family moved to Adrian, Michigan to live. He worked at Simplex Corp., until Retirement. Each morning following retirement, he and fellow co-workers and friends would gather at the Mall for Morning Coffee and fellowship. Charlie was a very friendly person, always jolly and laughing. Later, his health started failing and he moved South to be closer to his children. He lived with his daughter, Polly, until time came that he couldn’t use his legs and moved into Sunset Manor in Guin, AL. He still maintained that jolly spirit.

The summer of 2008, Charlie called Rev. Edward Puckett to come Baptize him (at age 92 yrs. young). Bro Puckett did so at the Nursing Home, using their lift and big bath tub. He later became a member of Love Joy Free Will Baptist Church, Beaverton, Al.
