Ms. Lucille Young Barnes, age 84, of Sulligent, Alabama, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton, AL.
Visitation at the funeral home Saturday evening, June 6, 2009 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral service, Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Bro. Tim Harris officiating. Active pallbearers, Wayne Woolbright, Michael Woolbright, Jason Barnes, Johnny Vaughan, Anthony Harris and DeWayne Harris. Honorary pallbearers, Nathan Vaughan, Matthew Vaughan, Dante Redding, James Redding Jr., Nicholas Harris, Zachary Harris, Jacob Barnes, Tyler McDonald and Adam Thomas.
Ms. Barnes was born March 28, 1925 to the late George W. and Viola Cantrell Young. She was of the non-denomination faith. Ms. Barnes loved flowers and sewing. She enjoyed watching the food network and wrestling.
She is survived by her sons, Edward (Helen) Barnes, Gattman, MS., George (Ruby) Barnes, Jasper, AL., 3 granddaughters she raised, Tammy (Wayne) Woolbright, Lisa (Johnny) Vaughan & Misty Woolbright; grandchildren, Judy (Mark Cooper) McDonald, Jason (Kyann) Barnes, Allen Harris, DeWayne Harris and Anthony Harris; 11 great-grandsons; 6 great-granddaughters; 1 great-great-granddaughter; brother, G.W. (Ginger) Young Jr., Andrews, TX.; sisters, Ruthie Mae (Littleton) Green, Sulligent, AL.; Madglean Vinson, Vernon, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Viola Young; husband, J.B. Barnes; son, Billy Young; daughter-in-law, Glendale Barnes; great-granddaughter, Marsha Harris; and sister, Annie Haney.
