Mrs. Earnestine Herron Sandlin
Earnestine Sandlin, age 63, of Sulligent, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Visitation, after 6:00 p.m., Thursday evening, June 25, 2009 at the Otts Funeral Home. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2009 at from the Sulligent First Assembly of God, the body to lie in state from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Burial in the Sulligent City Cemetery. Officiating ministers, Bro. Danny Hollis, Bro. Mark Dean and Bro. Jerry Oakes. Serving as active pallbearers will be Stanley Herron, Donald Herron, Vance Herron, Ken Sandlin, Bo Sandlin and Shon Sandlin.
Mrs. Sandlin was born July 2, 1945 in Lamar County, AL to the late Leroy and Gladys Humbers Herron. She was a member of the Beaverton Church of God. She attended Sulligent High School. Mrs. Sandlin had previously worked for Health-Tex in Guin, AL, McCoy Mfg. in Sulligent, AL, and Hatley, MS, and at Reltoc in Winfield, AL. She loved frying pies and cooking meat.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Sandlin, Sulligent, AL; 3 daughters, Marcie (Dwayne) Pearce, Smithville, MS, Michelle (Jeff) Vance, Sulligent, AL, Mytina (Ronnie) Sloan, Smithville, MS; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Marcus Herron, Vernon, AL
She was preceded by her parents, Leroy and Gladys Humbers Herron; 1 son, Coy Sandlin; 1 brother, Keith Herron; and 1 granddaughter, Kimberly Thompson.
