Mr. Cox was born January 2, 1915, in Marion County, Alabama to the late A. L. and Susan Tice Cox. He was retired and living in the Golden Living Center in Winfield, Alabama.

He is survived by 1 daughter, Doris Jeffreys; 1 granddaughter, Deborah (Ray) Webster; 2 great-grandchildren, Brandon (Dusty) Webster and Bo (Stacy) Webster; 4 great-great-grandchildren, Colton, Abby, Slade, and Kylie; 1 sister, Tennie Burleson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A. L. and Susan Tice Cox; his wife, Addie Holmes Cox; 1 brother, Henry Cox; 5 sisters, Hester, Nellie, Ida, Carrie, and Minnie; 2 sons-in-law, Ralph Emerson and Kenneth Jeffreys.

John Louis Fell, born August 24, 1935 to Arita and Benjamin Fell. He was a loving husband and married to Peggy Childers Fell for 17 years. He was a wonderful father to Beverly Harrison of Las Vegas, Nevada; Michael (Marilyn) Otts of Prosser, WA.; Benaye (Charles) Pannell, New Albany, MS.

He was a wonderful grandfather to Selena Otts, Johnwaylon Pannell, Michaela Otts, Hannahshane Pannell, Caitlin Otts and Samantha Pannell. Brother-in-law, Wade (Becky) Childers, Hamilton, AL.; sister-in-law, Joyce (Jimmy) Holloway, Hamilton, AL. Three nephews, Chris Spearman, Chad (Amy) Spearman, Bronson (Candi) Childers and a niece, Sly Childers, three great-nieces, Carissa and Gracie Spearman, Bree Childers, one great-nephew, Hunter Spearman.

He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Utica, MI., where he worked as a Superintendent for 32 years. He was a faithful member of Landmark Freewill Baptist Church where he was the adult men Sunday School teacher until his illness. Preceded in death by his parents and sisters Linda Capps and Benita Fell.

Buel Thaddeus Hall, age 85, of River Falls, Wisconsin, formerly of Hackleburg, Alabama, passed away Monday, June 7, 2010, at the River Falls Area Hospital. Private funeral service held at the Cashman-Hill funeral Home in River Falls, Wisconsin. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers, Edward Hall, Jim Larsen, Nathan Pomeroy, Matthew Pomeroy, Samuel Larsen, and Hunter Hall. Honorary Pallbearers, Harold and Joseph Hall. Mr. Hall was born August 1, 1924, in Hackleburg, Alabama, to the late William Levi and Ethie Patterson Hall. He married Joan Audrey Foster, September 5, 1953 and Dolores Wilson, February 8, 1992. Both have preceded him in death. Buel left school in the 9th grade to help support his family. As part of the New Deal, he was accepted in the Welding Vocational training program in the Mobile, Alabama shipyards as an apprentice welder. He served in the Army throughout the entire Pacific Campaign during WWII, notably in the New Guinea Campaign and in the Invasion of the Philippines. After the war, he remained in the Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked as a Journeyman Lithographic Pressman, primarily with Ladendorf Brothers' Printing in Chicago, Illinois for over 20 years. In his later years, he served as a handy-man for the Foster Associates, fixing and maintaining their properties. Buel was a Drag Racer for a number of years and a true "Car Guy", for many years, augmenting his income as a "shade tree" mechanic. He was a good Christian man and attended the Baptist Church. Buel will probably be remembered for his sense of humor and playful nature. A gregarious and outgoing person, he helped many people, sometimes total strangers, especially with their car issues. He is survived by 3 children, Patricia Jo (James) Larsen, Edward Foster Hall, and Dianne (Jerry) Matejka; 5 grandchildren, Nathan Pomeroy, Matthew Pomeroy, Katherine Matejka, Samuel Larson, Hunter Hall, and Joseph Hall; and 1 brother, Bures Hall. He was preceded in death by his wives, Joan Audrey Foster Hall and Dolores Wilson Hall; his parents, William Levi and Ethie Patterson Hall; 4 sisters, Leona, Vernell, Agnes, and Nona; and 1 brother, Buford.

Mr. Richard Lee Smith, age 74, of Sulligent, Alabama passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Generations of Vernon.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 2:00 P.M at Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Bishop Foster Wallace will be officiating.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.

Mr. Smith was born May 3, 1936 in Lamar County, AL to the late Napleon and Goldie Metcalfe Smith. He was a member of Roxanna Independent Church of God. Mr. Smith had previously worked for McDaniel Logging in Kennedy, AL. He enjoyed Riding around and hanging and talking with his friends. Juanita Taylor, age 72, of Sulligent, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Visitation, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Otts Funeral Home, Saturday evening, June 26, 2010. Funeral service, 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Wofford Cemetery. Bro. Marion Dees Jr. and Bro. Jerry Oakes officiating. Ms. Taylor was born June 8, 1938 in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Roy and Jeanette O'Mary Weeks. She attended First Assembly of God in Sulligent and Cornerstone Worship Center in Columbus, Mississippi. Ms. Taylor attended Sulligent High School. She had previously worked at Sulligent Library and Sulligent School Lunchroom. She also had previously worked and managed Bills Dollar Store and for McCoy Manufacturing. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, quilting and reading. Active pallbearers, Tim Merchant, Tony Robertson, Phillip Weeks, Donald Jones, Edward Taylor, Nathan Reeves, Robbie Rost and Jeff Smith. She is survived by 1 son, Robert (Dianita) Taylor, Pinson, AL.; 1 daughter, Sandra (Paul) Reeves, Columbus, MS.; 4 grandchildren, Michael Taylor, Briana Taylor, Joshua Reeves and Jacob Reeves; 3 brothers, Clyde Weeks, Sulligent, AL., Steve Weeks, Sulligent, AL., and Joe Mack Weeks, Beaverton, AL.; 4 sisters, Martha Frakes, Winfield, AL., Peggy Chaffin, Guin, AL., Virginia Franks, Guin, AL., and Tammy Gilmore, Nebraska. William Douglas Wright

William Douglas Wright, age 88, Sheffield, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010. Visitation, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, Alabama. Graveside service, 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010, Winfield City Cemetery, Winfield, Alabama. Nephews served as pallbearers. Mr. Wright was a Navy veteran, retired from TVA and a member of First United Methodist Church of Sheffield, Alabama. He is survived by his brother, Charles Harvey Wright, Florence, AL.; 2 sisters, Rebecca Hearn, Sheffield, AL., and Catherine Brooks, KY.; 2 sisters-in-law, Eloise Mills, and Reva Wright; and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sorona Briggs Wright and Pauline Pickens Wright; wife, Margaret Inez Caudell Wright; brother, Sammy Briggs Wright; sisters, Jeanette Rose and Sue Byram. He was a wonderful person and will be missed by all.
