Paul Barnes, both of Birmingham, AL.; 4 daughters, Brenda Smith of Michigan,

Lawler of Phil Campbell, AL.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren

including his little angel, Amber; 1 sister, Eloise Hopper of Hamilton, AL.; 3

and Max Barnes of Hamilton, AL.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Grove Independent Missionary Baptist Church. She loved gardening, flowers,

singing and her children and family with all her heart. Most of all, she loved

the Lord.

training in medical physicians billing and coding and was previously employed

with Jefferson Clinic P.C. Ms. Crump served with the American Heart Association

and Crippled Children's Association. She enjoyed flowers.

She is survived by her daughter, Anita Crump, Birmingham, AL.; 2 brothers, Ralph

Pogue, Dallas, TX., and Lloyd (Harriett) Pogue, Astoria, OR.; nieces and

Mrs. Turman was born December 9, 1927 in Lamar County, AL to the late Lance Beal

and Louthel Pickle Markham. She was married to the late Roy Lybrand Turman. Mrs.

Turman attended the Pine Springs Methodist Church. She had previously worked at

Kroger in Amory, Columbus and Aberdeen, MS. She enjoyed shopping and eating out.

She is survived by 1 son, Joe (Ruthie) Minor, Amory, MS; 1 granddaughter, Kim

(Craig) Bateman, Columbus, MS; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lance Beal and Louthel Pickle Markham;

husband, Roy Lybrand Turman; 1st husband, Joe B. Minor; 1 son, Steve Minor; 1

sister, Frances McDonald; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Leigh Minor, and Crystal

Wilson Smith.

Ms. LuSundra "Cookie" Maddox, age 50, of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of

Sulligent, Alabama, passed away on February 25, 2009 in Florida.

Ms. Maddox was born on October 6, 1958 to the late Minnie Lee Guyton Maddox and

Clinton C. Maddox. She was a member of the St. James Baptist Church where she

sang in the choir for many years. Ms. Maddox was a 1977 graduate of Sulligent

High School. She grew up being active in the Young Matrons and she also was a

member of the Easter Star. In her later years she moved to Delray Beach, Florida

where she attended Ebeneezer Baptist Church.

She is survived by 4 sisters, Vivian (Isaac) Scurry, Delray Beach, FL., Melanie

(Matt) Olson, Augusta, GA., Valeria Maddox, Sulligent, AL., Pamela Harvard, Lake

Worth, FL; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Lee Guyton Maddox; father,

Clinton C. Maddox; and brother-in-law: Shurod Harvard.

grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a sister, Millatene "Mickie" Oliver all

Mr. Buckley was born in Sulligent, AL, to the late Horace Leon and Lorie Maddox

Buckley. He had lived in Sulligent most of his life. He was a Veteran having

served in the US Air force, a member of the Sulligent Masonic Lodge, the

Shriners and the Sulligent First Baptist Church. He retired after 30 years of

service from Liberty National Life Insurance Company as District Sales Manager.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Nolen Buckley of Sulligent, AL, a daughter,

Lori Smith (Todd) Buchman of Kent Island, MD; 3 sons, Alan Lynn (Susie Ducan)

Buckley of Scottsboro, AL, James "Jim" Leon (Amelia McAfee) Buckley of

Palestine, TX and Jay Scott (Donna Kellum) Buckley of Sulligent, AL. 6

grand-daughters and 1 grandson, a brother, Horace Frank (Leonora Green) Buckley

of Sulligent, AL and several nieces and nephews.
