passed away Sunday, February 3, 2008, at his residence.

Veteran Mr. Riley Belk age 96 of Muscle Shoals, AL, formerly of Sulligent,

passed away Saturday morning Feb. 9,2008 in Muscle Shoals.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Otts

Funeral Home Chapel in Sulligent Alabama with burial in the Sulligent City

Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 12 until services

time at 2 p.m.

Mr. Belk was born January 27, 1912 in Lamar County, AL to the late Luther

Daniel and Sally Real Belk. He was member of Avalon Baptist Church in Muscle

Shoals. Mr. Belk was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII and also was

involved in the Normandy Invasion (D-Day). He was a 1932 graduate of Sulligent

High School. Mr. Belk previously worked for Waddell Trucking Company in

Rockford, IL. He enjoyed gardening.

Mr. Kennemur was born March 15, 1922 in Marion County,

Alabama to the late Ralph and Omie Brewer Kennemur. He was married

to Johnnie Harris Kennemur. Mr. Kennemur was a Teacher in the Colbert

County School System and was a WWII Veteran who was a POW (Prisoner of War) in

WWII (World War II).

He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Harris Kennemur; 4 sons,

of the late James Hiram and Evie Frederick Wood. He was married to Lena

Mae Wood and was a President and CEO in the Banking Industry. Mr. Wood was

a Veteran of WWII. He was an active member of Hamilton United Methodist

Church and a life-long Banker and Businessman. After retirement, he had

hobbies like, rose gardens and he was a diehard Alabama fan.

Born in Kalamazoo Michigan she is the daughter of the late Ray W. Asbury Sr. and

Beulah Stephens Asbury and the wife of the late Gerald Lewis Hagney. She was a

loving Mother and Homemaker and a wonderful Artist. Mrs. Hagney was a member of

the Guin First United Methodist Church and a member of the Red Hat Society. She

and her late husband Gerald were married on February 6, 1949 and will be united

again at her burial on February 6, 2008.

Manor Nursing Home in Guin, AL.

Born in Guin, AL. He is the Son of the late Oliver and Mattie Pollard Wilson. He

was a US Army Veteran of World War II having served in Italy. He was a former

resident of East Moline, IL where he worked for John Deere Plow and Planter for

30 years. After retiring he moved back to Guin, AL where he enjoyed hunting and

tending his garden. He was a member of the New Hope Church Of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise Weaver Wilson of Guin, Two

Daughters, Cathy (Scott) Pugh of Collierville, TN, and Sandy McCaleb of

of his children was there to support their children and grandchildren and

family. She was a member of our Class of 1966 as was Joseph. Thanks to Larry Lindsey,

I attended Joseph's wake and

then his funeral service and I have to tell you how moved I was by it. His

two granddaughters gave heartfelt talks about their "Papa Joe". Angie's

husband, Jim Ward, shared some of his thoughts and feelings about Joseph

that we could all hope our 'in-laws' would say about us after we're gone.

Joseph was truly loved and respected by his family and I find great comfort in

that. I wish I could have known him in these years since we graduated high

school together but it was not to be. I am so glad that our class rallied

round to support the family and show just how much Joseph meant to us.

retired from the Sulligent Housing Authority. Mr. Otts was a veteran of the U.S.

Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Otts supported Sulligent High

School football for many years and enjoyed watching college and pro football. He

also enjoyed working puzzles.

Mrs. Eva Lee Irvin, age 89, of Sulligent, AL passed away Monday, February 18,

2008 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton, AL. Funeral services

will be held on Wednesday, February 20,, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from the Otts Funeral

Home Chapel with burial in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Officiating ministers

will be Bro. Mitch Nethery and Bro. Danny Stanford. Visitation will be held on

Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Serving as active pallbearers will be

Alan Franklin, Neil Moore, Matt Crum, Donnie Irvin, Mitchell Puckett, James

Crosby, Wayne Brown and Rickey Green.

Mrs. Irvin was born January 2, 1919 in Lamar County, AL. She was the daughter of

the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Evans Blaylock and the fourth of eleven children.

The family was reared on a farm in the Shiloh North Community near Sulligent.

She and L.C. "Bud" Irvin were married on March 8, 1941. From this union two

children, Rebecca and Jacky, were born. After being a stay at home mom, she

became the lunchroom worker at Pine Springs School. In later years, she worked

at Detroit Slacks, kept neighbors' children and later her grandchildren. Mrs.

Irving loved her family, her church and her community. She was a long time

member of the Pine Springs United Methodist Church.

Loyd Tucker, Jr., age 72 of Eldridge, AL, died Friday, February 1, 2008 at his

residence.

Mr. Tucker was born January

3, 1936 in Fayette County to Jerry Loyd, Sr. and Lorene McDonald Tucker. He was

a resident of Eldridge most of his life. He retired as an over the road trucker

with Sunnyland Refining of Birmingham. He was a member of White's Chapel Church

of Christ and a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Marines; and six

years in the Alabama Army National Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jerri Faye

Tucker; three brothers, Charles, Adolph, and Buddy Tucker; four grandsons, and a

granddaughter.

Mr. Webster was born on

October 22, 1940 in Fayette Co. a son of Arlington Hill "Arlie" Webster and Alma

Louise Tyler Webster; resident of Winfield most of his life; 1961 Winfield High

School Graduate; attended Northwest Alabama Technical School; was in the US Army

and the National Guard for 35 ½ years having served in Germany, Egypt, Ecuador,

Panama Canal and the U.S. and he received an Army Commendation Medal; previously

employed with Regency Oldsmobile, Pate Chevrolet, Hamilton Plastics and retired

with American Camper at Haleyville; he was a member of Winfield Masonic Lodge

#304, Eastern Star #208, American Legion Post #100 and the Winfield First

Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by

his father.

at his residence.

Mr. Atkinson was born on May 5, 1933 in Fayette Co. a son of Robert Kelly

Atkinson and Tollie Burnett Atkinson; previous resident of Birmingham for 15

years and returned to Sandy Hollow/Wayside Community for 38 years and in

Haleyville past few years; US Air Force Korean Veteran; member of Piney Grove

Free Will Baptist Church in Beaverton; retired from V & B Trucking business; and

he loved to fish, always looking for the one bigger than the last one.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Myra Beth

Benton; and a grandson, Little Mark McKay.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Violet "Vi" Fletcher Atkinson of Haleyville;

25, 2008 in the Lakeland Community Hospital at Haleyville.

Mr. Roberts was born on May 16, 1924 in Marion Co. a son of Belton Franklin

Roberts, Sr. and Mary Adeline Dodd Roberts; lifelong resident of Sunny Home

Community; retired Coal Miner, Farmer and last employed as a Bus Driver for

Brilliant Schools; member of Brilliant Masonic Lodge #601; and a member of Myers

Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willomae Hill

Roberts; two sons, Kenneth Doward Roberts and Roger Dale Roberts; four sisters,

Lela Garrard, Miss Ella Roberts, Lena Cain and Dora Gann; and four brothers,

Lee, Dewey, Carl and Jim Roberts.

Williams, age 85 of Monument, Colorado, formerly of Hubbertville, in Fayette Co,

AL passed away Friday, February 8, 2008 at her residence in Monument, Colorado.

She was born on December 7, 1922 in Fayette Co. the only daughter of William

Vaughn McCaleb and Edril Hubbert McCaleb of Hubbertville. She graduated from

Hubbertville High School in 1941. After World War II, she married Army Air Corp

B-17 pilot, Capt. Gerald L. Williams in Birmingham, AL. She was widowed in 1961

as Gerald was killed in Colorado while piloting an Air Force jet for the United

States Air Force Academy. She then later married another Air Force officer, Col.

Chet Haas, who passed away in 2007. She spent the majority of her adult life

living near her beloved Air Force Academy, where her son, Clarence "Sonny"

Williams attended school as a cadet.

She is survived by three sons, Gerald L. "Jerry" (Sherri Wilson) Williams of

Sausalito, CA, Clarence A. "Sonny" Williams of Monument, CO and Allen McCaleb

"Mac" Williams of Savannah, GA; six grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren;

one step-daughter, Candace Foy of San Antonio, TX; three brothers, Clarence A.

(Virginia) McCaleb of Winfield, AL, William Vaughn (Lois) McCaleb, Jr. of

Jasper, AL and Hubbert Steven McCaleb of Hubbertville, AL; nieces, nephews and

Hubbertville on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 3:00 PM. Family will receive friends

Raymond Harold Webb, age 74

of Michigan, formerly of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away February 9, 2008, in

Michigan.

Raymond was born in Alabama,

July 24, 1933, the son of the late Ruben "Rube" and Beulah Rye Webb. He

had lived in Michigan most of his adult life but he still loved to visit with

his family in Hamilton and it's surrounding area. Raymond was a man of

great faith and shared it with others.

He is survived by his wife

and loving family in Michigan; 4 brothers, James Carlos Webb, MI., Jimmy Lee

Webb, MI., Billy Ray Webb, Pinson, AL., and Arthur Clois Webb of Hamilton, AL.;

and 1 sister, Lula Faye Webb Wade of the Birmingham, AL. area; and a host of

loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
