Mr Childers was born April 5, 1936 in Marion County, Alabama, the son of the late Virk & Elsie Maxwell Childers from Hamilton, Alabama. He was Retired from the Military and was a Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict.

He is survived by 2 sons, Jim (Ellen) Childers, and Tim Childers and Sandy Grygo; 2 grandchildren, Brandon Childers and Eric Childers; 2 brothers, Charles (Margaret) Childers, and Ronnie (Nancy) Childers; 4 sisters, June (Carl) Miehl, Joyce Miller, Virkie Miller, and Jan Ozbirn; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tokiko Childers; his parents, Elsie and Virkley Childers; and 1 sister, Kitty Ussery.
