Mr. Sammy Lee Barton

Sammy Lee Barton, age 60, of Haleyville, Alabama, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Lakeland Community Hospital.

Visitation, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., Friday, April 30, 2010, at Old Macedonia Church. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Old Macedonia Church. Jody Baker, Ferlon Baker, and Alvis Treece officiating. Burial in Old Macedonia Cemetery.

Mr. Barton was born March 20, 1950 in Sheffield, Alabama to the late Willer Dean Rutherford and Bobby Barton.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Daniel Barton; 2 sons, Sammy Lee Barton, Jr. and Nichoulas James Barton; 2 step-sons, Timothy A. Mann and Christopher A. Daniel; 1 step-daughter, Christina M. Daniel; his step-father, Mitch Barnoski; and 6 grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Bobby A. Barton; and his mother, Willer Dean Rutherford Barnoski.

Richard Frasier Hargett

Richard Frasier Hargett, age 63, Foley, Alabama, (formerly of Hamilton, Alabama) passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010, at his residence.

Sunrise services held Friday, May 7, 2010, on the Gulf of Mexico in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Slate Moore officiated the service. Richard was born June 25, 1946, Booneville, Mississippi, Marie Hargett and the late Linnie Hargett. Formerly of Hamilton, Alabama, he was living in Foley, Alabama at the time of his death and prior to his death, was employed by BP. Richard had worked as a mechanical engineer for Marion Equipment of Marion, Ohio, CMI in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and NAACO in Sulligent, Alabama. He is survived by his mother, Marie Hargett; 1 daughter, Lynn (Brad) Hatcher, Marietta, GA.; 1 grandson, Jackson; 1 son, Ricky Hargett, Foley, AL.; 1 sister, Jeannie (Bruce) Miller, Hamilton, AL.; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Linnie Hargett.

Mignon Blanchard Metcalf, age 79, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2010 at her residence.

"Mignon Blanchard Metcalf was born January 8, 1931 to the late Bijah and Viola McCraw Blanchard of Hamilton, Alabama. Preceded in death by husband, Milton E. Metcalf, (3) brothers: Samuel Northington, Everet Blanchard, Wayne Blanchard, Wayne Blanchard, and one son: Michael S. Metcalf.

She was a devoted member of Rocky Grove where she served for many years. Mignon was also President of rocky Grove Cemetery Committee. She was a retired homemaker and caregiver also employed by Marion-Winston Community Action for several years.

She leaves to cherish her memories (3) sons, Randall (Leatha) Metcalf, Fayetteville, NC, Rodney (Nancy) Metcalf, Hamilton, AL, & Dwayne Metcalf, Clanton, AL, (3) daughters, Misinnia (James) Northington, Kansas City, MO, Margeret (Rector) Johnson, & Reda Metcalf, Hamilton, AL, (1) sister, Glenis Foster, Memphis, TN, (12) grandchildren, (4) great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and close friends."
