As we celebrate our great nation's 250th birthday on July 4th, 2026, we at 49 County News want to show our patriotic side by giving a nod to the national celebration and to the history, service, community, and hometown stories that continue to shape Northwest Alabama and the United States of America.

Freedom 250 is the White House effort connecting national events, history features, and ways for citizens and communities to take part in the semiquincentennial celebration.
