GET TOGETHER #217 HE IS THE GOD OF RESTORATION

Isa 58:12 Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In. (NKJV)

I never ceased to be amazed at the way that I see the mighty restoration power of God at work. This past Monday the Lord opened up a door to go to Jasper, Alabama to speak before the Kiwanis Club about the book that I have written The Real Party Is At Daddy’s House.

The meeting was in a new building on the Campus of Bevill State Community College in Jasper, Alabama . My first thoughts went back to when I had previously attended Walker College what is now Bevill State in the late 60’s and early seventies. I made it more than a two year school for me. There had been a building where the new one was that I had attended and cut several classes in. Before I came to Christ I was not a very serious student.

I also thought about how in my earlier days when I was a student there and that I had an inferiority complex that I often tried to mask through alcohol abuse and other sinful devices. I thought about what a difference that it was to be able to draw on the Holy Spirit to give you words from the throne of heaven during this opportunity to share about how God had worked in my life and the lives of my family and so many others.

The Lord’s promise in Isaiah is a promise for those who turn to the Messiah. The Messiah is Jesus Christ. He will rebuild the age old waste places. He will repair the breach. He will restore broken streets and dwellings.

The next day the local newspaper the Daily Mountain Eagle carried a story about the event. The enemy began to mock me and taunt me after that telling me that he would use that newspaper article to bring harm to me. I praise God that we are not on the enemy’s agenda, but we are on God’s agenda. Heb 2:14 ¶ Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil.”

The next day as a result o f the newspaper article I heard from several old friends who live in different states who have been a part of my life. They had read the article through the newspapers online edition. One of them shared with me how he had accepted the Lord and was living his life for God.

God wants to work restoration in your life today. Think about some of your most painful times. God wants to bring healing. Think about parts of your life that if you had another chance you would have done it different. Ask God to redeem that part of your life. Hallelujah! We serve a God according to Revelation 21:5 that “makes all things new”! Trust Him today to rebuild, raise up, repair, and restore.

LET US PRAY

Lord Jesus there are certainly some things in our lives that we have messed up. Lord we believe today that by the Holy Spirit You will work to dress those things up that we have messed up. We give these things to you today. We are excited about how You will work them out.

In Jesus Name

Amen

God is doing great things here at CCF. We are seeing God work in the lives of people in special ways. Last week one of our sisters here at CCF Tammy graduated from drug court. What a great victory for the Lord! She comes to the Jesus Now Ministry on Thursday Night and is a part of our church family. Thanks to all of you who pray for the ministry here. Jake is on the road recruiting. Jessye is getting closer to her delivery date. Shaun is working hard and J.J. is taking a healing from a cold that the enemy has tried to send her.

We love you all.
