GET TOGETHER #201

In His Time.

Hab 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. (NKJV)


I am so hyped up today that I am having a hard time focusing. My meter is going round and round. I got the call from our publisher and I am going to Birmingham to pick up the books tomorrow. I have tried to hurry God up in so many ways on this that it is laughable.

The Lord has reminded me that everyday that I make declarations concerning God’s timing in my life and I ask Him to orchestrate my day and then I try to interfere with what the Conductor is doing.

The Holy Spirit has recently reminded me of another way that He has tried to teach me patience. We have a busy intersection in Hamilton, Alabama that when we first moved up here was very dangerous early in the morning when you were facing east and trying to make a left turn. The sun was always in your eyes and you really had to pray because you often could not tell what color the light was.

I am sure that many people besides me prayed about that intersection and God answered our prayers. A new light with turn arrows was installed and it has made that intersection a lot safer. The Lord reminds me of this when I sometimes come to this intersection and I have a long wait. The Lord has used this intersection to teach me about patience and to try to develop patience in me. The Lord has also used this intersection to teach me that He is orchestrating all things in my life for Kingdom purposes. He is letting me know that we want everything to take place at His appointed time. Because when it is at His appointed time we can trust that the Holy Spirit has been at work in all of these matters and setting up situations and circumstances to work in peoples lives for the purpose of His Holy Kingdom . He works for our good and his Glory.

With that said I am confident that it is the appointed time for the book The Real Party is At Daddy’s House to come out. I am trusting that God will speak to the people that He wants to buy the book or books. I am trusting that this book will be about the redeeming love of Jesus Christ and that He will use this book to work in a redemptive way in the lives of all who read this book.

How about you? Do you catch yourself sometimes trying to rush God along? Are you allowing God to cultivate patience in your life? Remember that He has an appointed time and that He is working things out to perfection. There may be heartbreak in your life that God wants to heal. Ec 3:11 ¶ He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. Lord Jesus help us all to be patient. And yet we also know that we are not to procrastinate when You tell us that the appointed time has come. I pray today that all who read this will allow you to orchestrate the things in their lives in order that each can see patience have its perfect work and sing “Look What The Lord Has Done.”
