Mr. Walter F. Weeks
(June 10, 1911 - October 19, 2009)

Walter Weeks, age 98, of Beaverton, Alabama, passed away Monday, October 19, 2009 at the residence.

Visitation at the Otts Funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral service, 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Beaverton Free Will Baptist Church. The body to lie-in-state at the church from 2:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. Burial in the Beaverton Cemetery. Bro. Charles Colburn and Bro. Dwight Bailey officiating. Active pallbearers, Dustin Fretwell, Teddy Gunter, Harold Haynes, David Haynes, Michael Gunter and Chris Weeks.

Walter Weeks was born June 10, 1911 in Lamar County, Alabama to the late William T. and Nellie Bell Terrell Weeks. He was married to the late Mandy Lee Humbers Weeks. Mr. Weeks was a member of the Beaverton Free Will Baptist Church. He had worked as a farmer and drove a school bus for several years. Mr. Weeks was in the CCC Camp in Dekalb, Mississippi. He enjoyed hunting and a love of animals. Mr. Weeks enjoyed reading the Bible and listening to gospel music. He had a deep love for his family.

He is survived by 2 sons, James Douglas (Judy) Weeks, Beaverton, AL., and Don (Marlene) Weeks, Sulligent, AL.; 5 daughters, Mary Nell (James) Perkins, Beaverton, AL., Carolyn Haynes, Sulligent, AL., Dean (Frank) Loftis, Columbus, MS., Margaret (Dale) Nolen, Sulligent, AL., and Marilyn (Coy) Wilson, Sulligent, AL.; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Nell Crump, Beaverton, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William T. and Nellie Bell Terrell Weeks; his wife, Mandy Lee Humbers Weeks; 1 granddaughter, Sheena Nolen Martin; 1 great-granddaughter, Amanda Otts; 4 brothers, James “Dick” Weeks, Luther “Bud” Weeks, Roy Weeks, Talmage Weeks; and 1 sister, Zora Reed.
