Mrs. Azalee Owen Holcomb

Azalee Owen Holcomb, age 87, of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away Friday, October 23, 2009 at Marion Regional Nursing Home in Hamilton, Alabama.

Visitation, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Poplar Log Freewill Baptist Church. (Lie-In-State from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Sunday, at the church.) Jason Hammontree and Jeff Boyles officiating. Burial in Poplar Log Cemetery.

Mrs. Holcomb was born November 23, 1921, in Marion County, Alabama to Ben H. and Flossie Cantrell Owen. She was retired from the Marion County Board of Education. She was married to the late Obie Holcomb.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Jan (Hugh) Holland, and Judy Holcomb; 3 grandchildren, Skip (Teresa) Holland, Chris (Michelle) Holland, and Amy (Robbie) Clemons; great-grandchildren, Erica, Halee, Jacob, Joshua, and Jordan Holland; 1 brother, Belton Owen; and 1 son-in-law, Charles Parrish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Obie Holcomb; and 1 daughter, June Parrish.
