Mr. Charles Douglas Cash
Charles Douglas Cash, age 68, of Millport, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010, at DCH in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Funeral service, Wednesday, July 7, 2010, 11:00 a.m., Dowdle Funeral Home in Millport, Alabama. Burial in Memory Hill Memorial Garden. Benton Goodman and Ricky Cash officiating.
Mr. Cash was born October 12, 1941, in Fayette County,
Alabama, to the late Ira Gardner and Lessie Freeman Cash. He was a
native of Lamar County, Alabama and was a graduate of Samford University in
Birmingham, Alabama. He was a History and an English teacher at Tuscaloosa
Junior High School, Assistant Principal at Tuscaloosa County High School,
and Principal at Winfield City High School, Talladega High School, and South
Lamar High School. He was a member of the Lamar County Retired Educators
Association and the West Alabama Service Club. He was a member, Deacon and
Sunday School Class Teacher at Kennedy Baptist Church. He also participated
in several mission trips to Chile.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marilyn Vick Cash; 1 daughter,
Valerie Michelle (Keith) Birge, Bradley, IL.; 1 son, Charles David Cash,
Baltimore, MD.; 3 sisters, Cherry (Al) Pickett, Montevallo, AL., Jane
(Wolfgang) Cooper, Punta Gorda, FL., and Faye Howell, Macon, GA.; 1 brother,
Mark (Betty) Cash, Douglas, WY.; and 1 grandchild, Zach Birge.
Pallbearers, Jerry Parham, Bill Trull, Don Seay, Dan Prater, Tom Rogers, J.D. “Butch” Hildreth, Troy Sessions and Wiley Sessions.
