Mr. William Haylen Cantrell

William Haylen Cantrell, age 65, of Vernon, Alabama, passed away Friday, September 11, 2009 at DCH in Tuscaloosa.

Visitation, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening, September 13, 2009 at Otts Funeral Home in Sulligent, AL. Funeral services, 11:00 a.m., Monday, September, 14, 2009 at Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Macedonia Cemetery. Bro. James Godsey officiating.

Mr. Cantrell was born September 18, 1943 in Lamar County, AL to the late William Olice and Mary Alice O’Mary Cantrell. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Cantrell had previously worked for McCoy Mfg. and Head Brothers Sawmill. He enjoyed working in the yard and wood working.

He is survived by 1 son, Haylen Dewayne (Melissa) Cantrell, Vernon, AL; 4 grandchildren, Christina Cantrell, C.J. Cantrell, Daisye Cantrell, and Travis Cantrell; 2 brothers, Melton Cantrell, Vernon, AL, Robert Cantrell, Cullman, AL; 2 sisters, Jewel Dean (Tootie) Cantrell, Gattman, MS, and Maurine Young, Hastings, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Olice and Mary Alice Cantrell; 2 brothers, Murlin Cantrell and George (Shorty) Cantrell; and 1 sister: Jeral Dean Cunningham.
