Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Fay Gosa Young of Sulligent, AL.; 2 daughters, Judith A. Hatfield, and Jackie N. Flake, both of Beaverton, AL.; 2 brothers, Clifton Woods of California, and Preston Woods of Georgia; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Bessie Gibbs Young; 1 daughter, Wanda Fay Whitmire; and several brothers and sisters.

Mr. J.C. Young

Mr. J.C. Young, age 85, of Sulligent, Alabama, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Visitation, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the Norwood Funeral Home in Sulligent, Alabama. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel in Sulligent, Alabama.

Mr. Young was born in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Samuel and Bessie Gibbs Young. He was a member of the American Legion and a member of the Taylor Springs Freewill Baptist Church where he served as the church secretary. Mr. Young was a Veteran and served in the U.S. Army in WWII. He was a resident of the Sulligent, AL. area most of his life and was retired from the Hyster Company. He also loved reading his Bible and spending time with his Grandchildren.
