She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Newman O. Taylor; her parents, Lemeul Pumeroy Godsey and Mary Ellen Woodall; and siblings, Ellafair, William, Fred, Elmer, Trannie and Leonard Godsey.

Lucy Charity Godsey Taylor-Hines, age 92, passed away Thursday, January 28th, 2010 at 9:30 p.m.

Chapel service Sunday, January 31st, 2:00 p.m., Elmwood Chapel. Visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial, Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor-Hines known as "Nanny" was born July 19th, 1917 in Winston County, Alabama, the youngest child of Lemeul Pumeroy Godsey and Mary Ellen Woodall. Retired from Continental Can Corporation, she is a long time member of Meadow Brook Baptist Church, North Shelby County, Al. The family would like to thank the staff at Orchard Healthcare for their love and compassion shown towards Mrs. Taylor-Hines.

She is survived by her husband, Roland O. Hines; 3 children, Anita (Gene) Buckelew, Wayne (Gwen) Taylor and Harold (Gena) Taylor; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-children, Ricky (Lawana) Hines, Neal (Cheryl) Hines, Debbie (Stanley) Davis and their families.
