Ms. Opal Evelyn Dobbins
Pippinger, age 85 years 7 months and 16 days, of Trumann, Arkansas, passed
away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro,
Arkansas.
Visitation, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday evening, May 21, 2010 at Thompson
Funeral Home, Trumann, Arkansas. Funeral service, 1:30 p.m., Saturday
afternoon, May 22, 2010, at the Eastside Baptist Church in Trumann,
Arkansas. Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan officiating. Burial in Jonesboro Memorial
Park in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Active pallbearers, Jeremy Pippinger, Robert Pippinger, Doty Reed, Chris
Hancock, Mike Lane, Nathaniel Clark, and Mason Reed.
Ms. Pippinger was born Thursday, October 2, 1924, in Vernon, Alabama, to the
late Walter and Mattie Steven Dobbins. She had lived in the Trumann area her
lifetime. She was a retired pant inspector for Salant/Salant, and was a
member of Eastside Baptist Church in Trumann, Arkansas.
She is survived by 1 son, Jerry (Myra) Pippinger, Star City, AR.; 3
daughters, Connie (Gerald) Anderson, Caraway, AR., Patsy (Joe) Vickers, and
Darlene (Freddie) McKinney, all of Trumann, AR.; 1 brother, LeRoy Dobbins of
Trumann, AR.; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2
great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pippinger was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Marvin Lee
Pippinger; 1 son, Donald Ray “Don” Pippinger; 1 grandson, Richard Lee
“Richie” Pippinger; 2 brothers; 1 sister; and her parents, Walter and Mattie
Stevens Dobbins.
