Mr. Buel Thaddeus Hall
Buel Thaddeus Hall, age 85,
of River Falls, Wisconsin, formerly of Hackleburg, Alabama, passed away
Monday, June 7, 2010, at the River Falls Area Hospital.
Private funeral service held at the Cashman-Hill funeral Home in River
Falls, Wisconsin. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers, Edward Hall,

Honorary Pallbearers, Harold and Joseph Hall.
Mr. Hall was born August 1, 1924, in Hackleburg, Alabama, to the late
William Levi and Ethie Patterson Hall. He married Joan Audrey Foster,
September 5, 1953 and Dolores Wilson, February 8, 1992. Both have preceded
him in death.
Buel left school in the 9th grade to help support his family. As part of the
New Deal, he was accepted in the Welding Vocational training program in the
Mobile, Alabama shipyards as an apprentice welder. He served in the Army
throughout the entire Pacific Campaign during WWII, notably in the New
Guinea Campaign and in the Invasion of the Philippines. After the war, he
remained in the Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked as a
Journeyman Lithographic Pressman, primarily with Ladendorf Brothers'
Printing in Chicago, Illinois for over 20 years. In his later years, he
served as a handy-man for the Foster Associates, fixing and maintaining
their properties. Buel was a Drag Racer for a number of years and a true
"Car Guy", for many years, augmenting his income as a "shade tree" mechanic.
He was a good Christian man and attended the Baptist Church. Buel will
probably be remembered for his sense of humor and playful nature. A
gregarious and outgoing person, he helped many people, sometimes total
strangers, especially with their car issues.
He is survived by 3 children, Patricia Jo (James) Larsen, Edward Foster
Hall, and Dianne (Jerry) Matejka; 5 grandchildren, Nathan Pomeroy, Matthew
Pomeroy, Katherine Matejka, Samuel Larson, Hunter Hall, and Joseph Hall; and
1 brother, Bures Hall.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Joan Audrey Foster Hall and Dolores
Wilson Hall; his parents, William Levi and Ethie Patterson Hall; 4 sisters,
Leona, Vernell, Agnes, and Nona; and 1 brother, Buford.
