August 9, 2008 Political Rally, a Fun-Filled Success

A political rally  for Gary Wayne Mays, Jr. was held  Saturday, Aug. 9th at the pavilion in the Hamilton City Park .Wayne, a candidate for Hamilton City Council, Place # 4, spoke briefly and fielded questions from the audience.  It seemed that a good time was had by all who attended the event Saturday, August 9th from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.Everyone was invited to attend and free hot dogs, chips and drinks were served.  Games such as badminton and horseshoes were also enjoyed by all.

Music and song was performed by Tim Cannon, Tim's twelve year old son, Taylor, and Hamilton's own Bryan K. Williams, also sang and performed with Tim.

Wayne mentioned this event was in honor of his dad, the late Gary Wayne Mays, Sr., who's birthday was August 9, 1945.  His dad passed away Feb. 28, 1980, when Wayne was 5 years old and a Kindergarten student at the Hamilton First Baptist Church.
